You need a tough watch like the Komandirskie to survive a trip to Market Basket (if my blurry grocery store ID skills are up to par)! I used to live in Chelsea and felt like I was entering the Thunderdome with every grocery shopping experience.
The Traveling Komandirskie. Who wants it?

Oh no! I was taking Sdelka off to show off the caseback and I popped one of the springbars. Thankfully, the other one held and there was no further drama.

After Superbowl XXXVIII, I am suspect of any so-called “wardrobe malfunction”...She was just trying to show off her new tat!

Are you sure that you don't wear it like that so you can flip it over and show off the case back? Are you really sure?

Showed Sdelka to my barber, who is from Bulgaria, and he got a real kick out of seeing a Russian watch. Said he would try to bring an old watch back the next time he goes back for a visit.

The NATO did it's job perfectly! Whenever I see these tales I always think about putting all my watches on NATOs. Sad thing is I don't like them. I like looking at them, but hate wearing them.Sporkboy wrote:Oh no! I was taking Sdelka off to show off the caseback and I popped one of the springbars. It is a computer, but no HDDs in at the moment, so I figured it was safe. I just needed a handy surface for a quick picture.

Generally I have found that if you arrive when they open, or even before that, then it isn’t bad at all. They say they open at 7, but that is the time they start checking people out, you can totally start shopping before then. After 9 on the weekend is a mad house. I avoid that at all costs. People take their children their and it is simply chaos.
Sdelka would be fine in that situation, but I might be tempted to take my G-Shock to get myself in the right headspace for the errand.

Sounds like a few elbows or hip checks are thrown

OK, I have contacted @Split-Time about the next leg of Sdelka’s journey. Aside from times when I don’t wear a watch, she has rarely left my wrist. I hadn’t planned on this, but Sdelka’s charm won me over. A very memorable experience in my watch adventure and I am grateful for being a part of it.
Sdelka and my Russian visa from back in 2008. Please note that the reason for my visit is stated as Olympic Committee Business. I was there to install scientific equipment. I insisted on going on a business visa and not a tourist visa, so my companies Russian associates were able to get me an invitation through the Russian Olympic committee and was told to lie on my visa application to make the reasons line up. I did not lie. Everything was fine, but I was uncomfortable the whole time I was there.
I did get to drink vodka with Russians while I was there, so that is something.

I am very much looking forward to receiving the newly cleaned up Sdelka!
Re: The Traveling Komandirskie. Who wants it?
Sdelka just had a quick shower, packed her bags and is on her way to the nearest transportation terminal (AKA: post office). I am sending a few goodies with her that she can use as a token to thank her future host wrists for their hospitality.Split-Time wrote: ↑Thu Jan 16, 2020 10:06 am I am very much looking forward to receiving the newly cleaned up Sdelka!
I had a couple of other pending parcels to go so Sdelka will make sure that packages for MoT and Tennessean_87 make it through the terminal. Everything should get to where it is going by the end of next week.

Sdelka is off, just in time to miss the upcoming winter storm in Boston. She’s off to Alabama next!
