Thanks. Of course the icons are just something to play with and don’t need to be on the dial at all. This sort of thing doesn’t show up on serious watches, but I thought it might be fun to explore at this stage. There are no bad ideas in brainstormingTheJohnP wrote:Right now the icons look best flanking the 6 in my view.

Totally.
Could be a fun option to replace the numerals with a different icon at 12, 3, 6, and 9

These are not “blank”, but I have 18 of these. Most are the black variety. If they would work, they are yours gratis.

I also like them at the bottom beside the 6. The guy pulling out the empty pockets...that’s just great!!! Would that work in place of the 6?

I think that those would work well for Seiko-based mods. The only issue is the small seconds hold, but I can fill that prior to priming. I was able to mostly dissolve the paint on my last batch, so that isn’t so bad as sanding them down. I will PM you shortly to work out the details.

OK, now that I have ~18 dials and more on the way, thanks to Watchapalooza, I am going to focus a bit more on process and workflow. Plans are to build a jig for making alignment marks on the dial back and to document and share the procedure.
This week will be printing the est. design on black and the going broke design in white. I will see what the icons look like on the dial and let you all know. Hopefully by the end of the week I can make some watches available, and someone other than myself will be able to wear one the following week.

I would say the very small watermarks by 6 or none at all. I agree black dial will probably be more popular but I really like the white too, especially if there is a way to have a black handset to match the indices. No preference for Established vs Going Broke. I see watchpalooza already sourced some dials for this but I'll send links for some more cheap ones I found.Sporkboy wrote: ↑Fri Jul 19, 2019 7:45 pm I may make those icons super tiny and put them on the credit line on either side of ‘designed by Sporkboy’.
What do you guys think is the best option there?
Also, which watch dials should I do? I am guessing that the black dial will be more popular. I can do a couple black ones with the ‘est...’ text and a couple with the going broke text. I could also do a couple white ones.
Personally, I like the ‘est...’ text, but if the people want the going broke text then I will do that.
Once I get some of these built, I will work on getting them out into the world. Once that is underway then I will work on another design that works with sub-style dials.

Icons didn’t work out. I have some decals applied and drying. Also made the marking jig.
All will have little imperfections, but that is part of the charm. I am not geared up for professional dial manufacturing, so I feel this should be acceptable.

Also got the Nakzen Pagodas in. Confirmed sapphire crystal.
39mm case and nearly all dial coming in at 33.5mm. Applied indices came off and now I need to design something that will play well with them...

The white looks pretty good, black needs some work. Printer settings need more cracking since it is not as saturated as It needs to be to not look completely ****.
New settings I am testing are on left. The ones I used on this mornings dials are on the right. Stepping back, even the white one pops more. More printing to come.
I might need to try the icons again.

When you get it nailed down, I call dibs on a black and/or white "Est" dial.
