Trends to Watch
A place to discuss the latest trends and fads in watches and watch-wearing.
One I have noticed is men wearing bracelets alongside (next to) their watch.

I have noticed that Clarkson does this all the time:
I wish that watch were 38mm?

Re: Trends to Watch
I think I first saw it here in the Ultimate Timex thread...I think it was Wolfsatz. Now I see this everywhere around Munich. I believe women have done this for awhile, but ladies’ watches tend to be smaller. Not sure I am sod on it, but it may be good for smaller vintage watches as it makes up some wrist presence.

Re: Trends to Watch
I know this trend is not brand new, but I've personally started to see it more in the past few months. Women wearing big chunky divers and other men's watches. Today I noticed a woman at work wearing a Rolex Sea-Dweller and complimented her on it and she absolutely beamed. I got the impression she didn't know a great deal about watches but she was clearly smitten with her watch and excited that someone recognized it. A few months back I ran into a woman wearing an absolutely beautiful Tudor Big Block. I've never been more jealous of a woman's jewelry. Sidebar - when I first started looking at and learning about watches a number of years ago, I had the idea to buy a Tudor Big Block as my one and only watch. I guess I should have bought one then as they've gone up in value fivefold. Anyway, I wonder if I didn't notice this trend that much previously because I'm not up to speed on celebrity fashion stuff. Maybe now it is becoming more of a mainstream trend?

Re: Trends to Watch
Lack of Watches
Since it hasn’t been said yet I will add the trend of people not wearing watches.
Watches in Movies
Is it just me or do characters in movies that have been made in the past few years wear a lot more watches than the general population?
It is almost like the people in costume design haven’t kept up with watch trends.

Re: Trends to Watch
Here is a trend that may just be starting but I hope to see become more widespread. There are more brands developing stainless steel bracelets with an integrated quick release mechanism for removal. Below are two such microbrand watches.......the Baltic Aquascaphe and the Direnzo DRZ 03. I haven't had any experience with this kind of bracelet, but assuming they work reasonably well, I would love to see them catch on with other microbrands as well as larger brands.

I really like those quick releases...saves a lot of effort with bracelet removal.

Re: Trends to Watch
I think Chris Ward's bracelets are quick release now.

Re: Trends to Watch
Yep, didn't realize that. I think all the other brands need to get on board with this.

Re: Trends to Watch
My Hamilton Jazzmaster (H32315141) bracelet has a quick release:
I'm eager to try Direnzo's quick snap-in mechanism. From the video shared elsewhere, it looks like it's going to spoil me for all other bracelets.
But I can't find any other Hamilton that does.I'm eager to try Direnzo's quick snap-in mechanism. From the video shared elsewhere, it looks like it's going to spoil me for all other bracelets.
