As you may have noticed, we we're offline this morning. This was caused by the "Thanks" plug-in going rogue and using up way too many server resources. This triggered an automatic suspension by our hosting provider as they thought it was a malicious attack. The "Thanks" plug-in has been disabled, hopefully temporarily so I can determine if that was indeed the cause, and take steps to prevent it from happening in the future.
I apologize for the disruption and for any confusion that may have caused.
LWDS (The Legion of Watch Deal Seekers)
Re: LWDS (The Legion of Watch Deal Seekers)
Vostok Vednesday compliant with the Neptune SE. At the time, it was the most I had ever spent on a watch, and couldn't imagine ever spending more. My how the times have changed.

Wow. It looks pretty good for living a preschool. Speaking of which, if you go back shoot me a PM...I might need some parts .Dub Rubb wrote: ↑Wed Jul 17, 2019 4:20 pmThis has nothing to do with compliance, but I DO have a pic of a watch on the Falcon as well! I was doing a job for a preschool, and saw this in the toy room and just had to take a pic. It was a while ago, but still worth sharing. I will be back later for compliance pics.Split-Time wrote:I climbed up in the attic with a flashlight for this @Sporkboy and @TheJohnP. My second attempt at a period correct Vintage Vednesday.

Re: LWDS (The Legion of Watch Deal Seekers)
Took this off the bracelet for the first time today. It has become sort of "meh" for me, but seems to have taken on a new life on a NATO.
Re: LWDS (The Legion of Watch Deal Seekers)
Happy two-crown NATO Thursday!
I wish that watch were 38mm?
Re: LWDS (The Legion of Watch Deal Seekers)
I haven’t worn the this in quite some time so the LWDS seems to be doing its job. Bulova Snorkel for compliance on two crown Thursday.

Compliant on Two Crown Thursday with the Citizen Nighthawk. Double compliance if an MN counts as a NATO.

Might be Crazy Horse leather full grain slight sanding and waxed, you get a self healing effect not suede or nubuck. I have boots and watch straps with this leather.PetrosD wrote: ↑Wed Jul 17, 2019 11:54 am Yesterday I finally received the CW bronze I ordered in the CW summer sale, delayed arrival thanks to DHL.
I'm really impressed by the quality and even though it's on a leather strap it's pretty heavy. It's definitely a solid watch. At 43mm it makes a bold statement, even on my roughly 8" wrist.
This was in the"nearly new" category and the patina has slightly begun on the bezel. The bronze of the case is still shiny new, but there are a few minor marks on the buckle.
The strap says it's vintage oak leather but the outer surface is textured with a feel more like suede. Kudos to CW for providing an OEM strap I can actually wear. On most OEM leather, I'm usually on the last hole or two anything often can't even wear them, but with CW I'm on the 4th from last hole, perfectly wearable.
Overall a great purchase so far, thanks to the HU thread.
Edit: Oops, I think this should have been posted in the "Show of you new watch" thread.

4 pushers = ~2 crowns

Going the Bbrou33 route and relying on HUISABH purchase compliance today. Still my favorite turtle and the first watch I bought from MoTs forum.

I will say the same about your new Sammy! If Seiko had promo pics that could do that wave dial justice, I would have bought one long ago. Same with the mini turtle with a similar dial. I had no idea about the wave pattern until I saw pics from owners.Bbrou33 wrote:That dial is beautiful!Dub Rubb wrote:Going the Bbrou33 route and relying on HUISABH purchase compliance today. My collection isn’t big so this is the same watch used for compliance last time - but hey - I put it on a different strap for ya! Happy Friday all!

This beater has been on my workbench since it arrived with a dead movement. New movement and it is working great.
The case needs sanding and brushing, I should relume those hands since they look funny as is. Then I’d need to lume the dial. Anyway, feels good to get this out of the disassembled stage at least for now. It will make a fine beater for sure.
