As you may have noticed, we we're offline this morning. This was caused by the "Thanks" plug-in going rogue and using up way too many server resources. This triggered an automatic suspension by our hosting provider as they thought it was a malicious attack. The "Thanks" plug-in has been disabled, hopefully temporarily so I can determine if that was indeed the cause, and take steps to prevent it from happening in the future.

I apologize for the disruption and for any confusion that may have caused.

Got the bezel from Murphy Mfg. it is actually starting to look like a Watch again. New handset is needed and a better dial (designed for this size dial and flatter).

Ohhh loving this dial!!

And to answer your question about my next mod, I really don't have plans other than maybe a bezel swap on my already modded Seiko!
Although seeing that new BSH dial that will be produced really has me itching to sign up for one!

I am waiting on a BSH gilt relief dial (should be here soon!) For the next mod. Just waiting on the dial, hour and minute hands, and the confidence to tackle an ETA. It is unexpectedly a lot more involved than a Seiko mod.

That new tropic dial that I believe you were referring to will probably be next on the list for me as well.

Here is a sneak peek.

Not compliant again. Well at least I don't think so. Still breaking this one in and adjusting to the size. Like I said before, I will make a post about how this watch came into my possession soon.

Happy SLAP (Seiko, Lorus, Alba, Pulsar, etc.) Saturday.
I just happen to be compliant.

With regards to mods, I should have some white MoT dials available within a couple of weeks.Image

I was explaining to my wife that I only have one Seiko that I do not wear often, so usually I am only beverage or meat compliant on Saturdays. But I totally overlooked the SLAP brands for compliance...thank you!

I am glad I could help. Also, I am told that it is the movement that counts, though I would say that any part of the watch would qualify. Anyway, if you have a quartz with a SII, Epson or TMI movement then you are good. Any of the Seiko auto movements would also work.

Not only Seiko (SLAP) Saturday compliant, but I'll raise you a "Sanrio Saturday," since I'm wearing a pair of Hello Kitty Converse.

Great pairing of watch and kicks! I really need to wear my 033 more. Whenever I see pics of one I get the urge to go switch. Such a versatile watch.

Yet one I somehow never got my hands on. Of All the damn Seikos I own, I somehow never picked one up. Yours looks awesome though, and you reignited the spark!

Threw on the SJE for a late lunch out with the wife and my mom. The honeymoon period for this should be over, but I am still infatuated with it.

Also went to wash my work car this morning. Something else my dad and I have in common aside from watches, is our love for hot hatches!

And bonus pics of my other ride. My dad bought this '90 GLi back in '89 and I went on the test drive with him when I was 3. When he got a new car, he was gonna sell it, so I convinced him to just pass it down to me. Luckily I had a set of coilovers, sway bars, wheels and headlights from my old coupe. Now this thing sits proper. And those Recaros though. . .Plus a car phone!

Thanks! The strap is the Barton Elite Silicone, because I still cannot justify spending $200 on OEM Longines rubber.
The cut is 2.8 pounds entrecote (I don't know what's that called in English, like a ribeye with bone?). Here it is in all its glory:Image

Sweet car collection too man! Vintage VWs just ooze coolness [emoji3]

Ribeye would be the correct translation.

It looks fantastic. I'll take mine rare, please.
