The Music of Time
How about compiling a list of songs that are time-related?
I'll start it off with 4 songs:
"Time on My Hands"--an obvious way to begin
"About a Quarter to Nine," written by Al Dubin and Harry Warren and popularized by Al Jolson
"Round Midnight," by Thelonious Monk
"Time in a bottle," by Jim Croce
------
With a nod to A Dance to the Music of Time, the 12-volume cycle of novels by Anthony Powell

Far and wide I will find 'em and I ride 'em
Bricks and mortar get my licks just for kicks
AD or authorized I don't analyze
Retail, wholesale never fail
Online or offline, I find I don't redefine
Too big to fail or yard sale they all hale
Run or hide just for fun deals I find

Re: The Music of Time
I. Memento Mori
(I know Yinz already posted this song; I thought it fitting to include them here playing it when they were themselves older.)
II. Instrumental
OK, a bit of a stretch on this one.
III. Contemporary

I'll give you an entire band.

Re: The Music of Time
Ah yes, Leroy Anderson's "Syncopated Clock"--I was waiting to post that myself.
"Three O'clock in the Morning"--a very oldie.
If we move from a clock to a calendar--"A Hundred Years From Today."
"(I've Had) The Time of My Life" from "Dirty Dancing"

YOU WIN THIS ROUND. D:<FTE wrote: ↑Sat Jan 26, 2019 3:29 amHow 'bout an entire record label?

Unfortunately that's minute as in little, originally "The Little Dog's Waltz" and composed at the suggestion of Freddy C's (no, not that one) squeeze at the time of making something where the right hand's part simulated a dog chasing its tail.
Meanwhile...
IV. Alexa, Talk Nerdy To Me
V. How Have These Not Been Posted Already?
VI. Moar Moldy Oldies
And...oh, you know its theme song already. Just enjoy a bit of Dr Blackadder instead.

Re: The Music of Time
Leonard Bernstein, Betty Comden and Adolph Green: "Some Other Time"
Noël Coward: "Twentieth-Century Blues"
Chambers Brothers: "Time Has Come Today"
Donovan: "Season of the Witch"
The Rolling Stones: "Time is on My Side"
Not the title, but . . .: "It's quarter to three . . ." ("One for My Baby")
