Ikea Eneby Bluetooth Speaker

Post by peskydonut »

I've been looking for some "dumb" bluetooth speakers. Not a fancy audiophile setup, but enough to fill the living room with ambient music in the evening. Something I can listen to while I'm cooking that won't listen to me- I don't want the likes of Google or Amazon in my house. Today I picked up the Ikea Eneby; actually I picked up 2, Eneby 20 and a slightly larger Eneby 30.

I'm totally enamored with these things. For their size and price, they sound amazing. The smaller speaker, Eneby 20, has an optional battery you can buy separately which makes it completely portable.

The larger speaker costs $89, the smaller is $49.99 + $20 for the optional battery.

I looks like it was meant for that cabinet.

I think it was meant for some Ikea shelf thingy, which this is not.

They also sell wall mounts for it, a stand, as well as replacement front covers (of course).

Somehow all the plants in the photos survived me. Their fallen brethren were not so lucky.

I do notice that those plants are categorized under "low maintenance" at online plant shops. :) The mother-in-law tongues look very healthy!!

Yes, but still living plants. :) On a related note, I have been surprised by how expensive some of the plastic plants are out there! Anyway, I totally digressed from talking about speakers.

I have enjoyed the wireless speaker I bought from Bose last year - it was a renewed unit but the condition was pretty much like new. It's small but rather powerful. It's the Mini II. Their outlet section often has good deals: https://www.bose.com/en_us/products/outlet.html check often as discount % varies over time. I'd bite once it gets to about 50% off.
