As you may have noticed, we we're offline this morning. This was caused by the "Thanks" plug-in going rogue and using up way too many server resources. This triggered an automatic suspension by our hosting provider as they thought it was a malicious attack. The "Thanks" plug-in has been disabled, hopefully temporarily so I can determine if that was indeed the cause, and take steps to prevent it from happening in the future.

I apologize for the disruption and for any confusion that may have caused.

McAfee Webadvisor lists MOT as harmful

Post by AndroidIsAwesome »

Just something I noticed, but McAfee lists this site as unsafe on google. Not sure if there is anything that can be done about it from an admin standpoint, but I just thought I'd let you know. Probably just because users can link to random sites, but of course we know the site itself is safe.

McAfee is trash. I've contacted them about it and nothing changes.

They err way too far on the side of "safety" and erroneously label sites, even when given explanations why they are wrong.

Just got this. That's fine they give me a warning, but refusing to let me go to the site anyway is going to them removed from my phone.

Submitted the site to McAfee for review, again.

All other security scans show this place as a clean site, for example: https://app.webinspector.com/public/reports/91779569

Is there a chance that some bot/hacker is posting links to malicious content? Maybe in their user signatures? Here's a profile with a sig that looks like SEO spam, but the same approach could be used for malware: http://www.manontime.com/memberlist.php ... file&u=492

If so, then maybe that's what McAfee is reacting to.

Not sure that is what is setting off McAfee as the site that is linked is not coming up as malicious. But this particular one is a bot that has already been banned...we are working on removing the links.
