Heads Up! I Saw A Bargain Here! 2023

Post by Robotaz »

If you want to buy a very nice, entertaining watch that would likely stay steady or go up in value, this GP would be recommended.

This is a very good deal for the right person. I think limited to 249 on a world stage is exclusive, especially for it being GP. I’ve had 4 GP movements, probably their lowest end, in JeanRichard watches and all of them run +1 s/d or better. GP makes COSC look stupid if that’s saying anything. By far the best performance for a brand that I’ve ever seen. Closest to spring drive I have experienced.

As far as Collector’s Time, I’ve known them for over 10 years. I bought the Glycine 100 year anniversary kit from Dontan. I believe they are in Philippines or Singapore. Can’t remember, but as upstanding as they get.

Or this weird old monopusher, if you’re into vintage stuff, only $1,100.

There are deals all over the place if the watches are the right ones.

Man, do I miss the days of Christopher Ward 50% + off sales and ~ $450 Tridents! Anyhoo, that was then and this is now.
Anything other than the C60 Tridents in 42 and 38mm went almost immediately. I was lucky enough to get a blue 39mm Sealander on leather during the 24 hour preview, but I was about 10 hours late so who knows what I missed. Would've preferred it on a bracelet, but I probably would've taken it off anyway.

Now comes the waiting for shipment.

Ferrari watches don't tend to do well as investments. I've owned a few Panerai Ferrari watches because they were much cheaper (and better looking) than the non-Ferrari model. The best deal I got was a Panerai GMT alarm with GP movement.

You can get a Panerai Ferrari Rattrapante for under $4000. A non-Ferrari model costs $2-3k more.

That Panerai is an ugly-ass watch and the GP isn’t.

Macys is now carrying Certina. This this may be relatively recent? Anyway, if you have an account check your coupons as I had a rewards coupon which could be applied to certina. Not sure which other brands it would work on but thought it was a good deal from a stateside AD. Grabbed the ph500 for $644.

60% off is a big discount for this brand. Whether they're even worth that much is another question. Several different models available.

Thanks for pointing out the Amex promo. I was able to get another Joker for $200. I've sold about a dozen of them. Ugly definitely sells!
