As you may have noticed, we we're offline this morning. This was caused by the "Thanks" plug-in going rogue and using up way too many server resources. This triggered an automatic suspension by our hosting provider as they thought it was a malicious attack. The "Thanks" plug-in has been disabled, hopefully temporarily so I can determine if that was indeed the cause, and take steps to prevent it from happening in the future.

I apologize for the disruption and for any confusion that may have caused.

How is that different than the current LE 1978? Looks exactly like the one I owned.

Interesting article on how many Kickstarter watch campaigns succeed.

https://www.watchpro.com/ever-wondered- ... s-succeed/

In that article they post an table that shows the 10 most successful campaigns in 2019 this far. Interesting to me that I joined campaigns 8 and 9, which are my first ever. I'll be picking up my Torsk diver later this month.Image

Some of the %Achieved data is very high and I'm sure the campaign owners got a massive surprise.

Love the starkness of that panda. Just black and white, no other color, not even on the second hand.

Sigh! It's 39 mm. Too small for me. Oh well. Money saved for a different watch purchase :)

I really want to buy one of these. But also I've spent over $1000 in two weeks on watches so i should probably enjoy what I've got.

Here's the text that came in an email to me from Boldr along with that photo

"We're elated by the great response to our latest Odyssey Bronze and Stainless Steel series, but by no means have we been resting on our laurels. We always keep our focus on our next undertaking. On the next bold step.

And boy, it's a big one - stay tuned for updates on what's in store very soon!

Thank you for supporting BOLDR."

Serica, a new company based in France, is producing a watch that takes its inspiration from the "Dirty Dozen" military watches of the 1940s. It will be called the W.W.W., after "Wrist Watch Waterproof" a specification for all military watches issued by the British Ministry of Defence at that time. The first 500 watches, referred to as the WMB Edition, will come with the hand-winding ETA 2801-2 movement. They are available for $540 and delivery is planned for September of this year.

I guessed wrong. It's the new Expedition. From a post on Boldr's Facebook page. Sorry can't seem to paste the link, so here's the text
"Hello everyone, here's another round of BOLDR Friday. Here's an open secret, we are launching the brand new BOLDR Expedition 2019 in the coming weeks. There will be about 5 models, here comes the fun part, can you guys name some of the models?Closest guess or most creative guesses will win something from us. Good luck!"

(sigh)
How come every new release watch I see on here lately that I like has a dial that is too small for my XXL wrists?

Must be a worldwide conspiracy against those that are wrist circumference challenged!
