Looking for smart straps

Post by Rainshadow »

Hi,

My first smart strap arrived last week from laks.com. It's actually a crococalf, with a pocket on the inside that holds an NFC chip from my bank, ABN AMRO. Paying for your drink by swiping the underside of your watch over the terminal is pretty cool.

Now, as a member of this forum I cannot of course be happy with just one brown 20mm strap with this feature. It would be great to have a couple of nice straps with a pocket on the inside, so I can swap the NFC chip, which looks a lot like a SIM card actually, on different watches.

So I guess this is a BOLO for cool watch bands with a pocket on the inside...

That's actually a smart idea. ;)

I've seen and had straps with embedded writeable NFC chips, but not one like this.

In a quick search, I'm not seeing anything like this. Seems like someone on Etsy could pretty quickly corner the market.

I'll be contacting Martu straps to see if she can do a custom 22mm.

It is just an extra bit, so theoretically it should be easy.

I wonder if one of the Bertucci nylon straps that have a sewn double layer could be modified to have an appropriate pocket.
