I own an older complete calendar version of this watch and actually have it up for sale on WUS. It is very well made and in general I have been impressed with the brand but fair warning that these are gigantic. There is a lot of value here especially in the added complications but they are huge.

Update re 26% sale. Got my green Seiko Sumo from Seiko Specialty Store 3S. As reported earlier, the ebates worked.

Fast shipping with good packaging. The watch looks great, but the screw-down action is absolutely terrible. If I had purchased it from another source, I would be returning it (the language issues on just a purchase were hard enough, so I'm not going to try to return it to Japan).

Not sure if deals like this are worth the risk.

You mean the screw-down crown is gritty feeling?

That's common on some seiko divers. you can try to dental floss trick. take some plain, unwaxed dental floss and run it through the crown threads several times. This happened to a couple of my turtles, and the crown action was a lot better afterwards.

Few are "deals" compared to a couple years ago when being closed out, but most remain new bargains in the affordable watch scene IMO. Anyway, I came across something a little different from all of the typical watch-nerd Bulova models, and yet seemingly very conservatively classy:

Attractive brushed pillowcase with matching butterfly solid link (I think?) bracelet, 40mm, two-tone and creme (I think?) dial with guilloche not found on a Surveyor, right?

This seems like the old-school "I only have one watch, but it's a nice one" type of thing.
