As you may have noticed, we we're offline this morning. This was caused by the "Thanks" plug-in going rogue and using up way too many server resources. This triggered an automatic suspension by our hosting provider as they thought it was a malicious attack. The "Thanks" plug-in has been disabled, hopefully temporarily so I can determine if that was indeed the cause, and take steps to prevent it from happening in the future.

I apologize for the disruption and for any confusion that may have caused.

Listed as working. Wouldn't run when wound.

Back to the drawing board...sigh.

That is too bad, but I appreciate the gif. Definitely contact the seller to try and return it or get a straight refund. In the past when a watch wasn’t working when sold that way, I have gotten to keep the watch and get my money back.

Already packed up and being sent back for a refund.
Seller was very accommodating when I let him know it didn't arrive in working condition.

Not too late at all. There is no requirement to pre-register this time. Closer to the time that the shopping period closes (end of June), I will have people lock in their participation status.

Welcome aboard. It should be interesting to see what everyone comes up with. There is no telling what we will turn up. If the last challenge is any indication, we will probably see things and brands that many of us have never heard of.

I got hooked on this challenge and just spent a number of hours looking at candidates. I found some cool prospects, but I don't expect to throw my hat in the ring. So, Sporkboy, my question is: how about if I just post some links here to what I found? Might give folks some ideas.

Let’s not do that. I don’t want it to be too easy or too hard. You have some listings you’d like to share, so if anyone is struggling then they can contact you directly. I think that sounds fair.

That will happen. I stopped after I won my BIN haggling and a Bulova that I was watching sold for about $26. I hope that someone in the contest won it since I am keen to see what is under the hood.

Luckily I cheered myself up when I made an offer that was over 50% less than the asking price and it was accepted.... standing by with horological tools in hand to investigate!!

These challenges are very cool but what I'd really like to see is a MOT watch!

Like an MoT Watch Design Challenge?
Or maybe someone submitting an entry that has an MoT dial?
