My name is Michael, and I'm the owner of Draken Watches - a boutique watch brand based in New Zealand. We're focused on creating tough, dependable tool watches with unique designs.
Our latest creation is a 500m water resistant dive watch with some awesome features:
Multi layered dial with custom bead-blasted indices
The German watchmaker and watch retailer Wempe has released a line of "steel sports watches" with integrated bracelets called the Iron Walker. It includes a chronograph, a dual-crown diver, and a three-hander.
Case: 42mm diameter x 13.95mm height – stainless steel case, brushed and polished – sapphire crystal with anti-reflective coating on both sides – screw-in crown, rectangular push-pieces – 100m water-resistant
Dial: blue or reversed panda dial – steel applied indexes and hands with Super-LumiNova
Movement: automatic chronograph ETA 7753 Valjoux – 4Hz frequency – fine adjustment designed by Wempe – 54h power reserve – German chronometer officially tested
Bracelet: stainless steel, brushed and polished, integrated – folding clasp
Price: EUR 3,675 or USD 4,250
Case: 42mm diameter x 11.70mm height – stainless steel case, brushed and polished – sapphire crystal with anti-reflective coating on both sides – two screw-in crowns, one for the movement, one for the internal bezel – 300m water-resistant
Dial: blue or black – steel applied indexes and hands with Super-LumiNova
Movement: automatic time-and-date ETA 2892-A2 – 4Hz frequency – fine adjustment designed by Wempe – 50h power reserve – German chronometer officially tested

I like what Zodiac has been doing but all the blogs and press outlets rave about them without addressing the real problem of the movement reliability. Until zodiac releases a new generation of STP movements and quits using the cheapest off the shelf quartz they can find, I'm going to remain a spectator.

The movement (and other QC) issues with Zodiac have put me off them. FWIW as far as I recall reading this new GMT is using an ETA movement.
%99 of people do not notice or care whats on your wrist. All that matters is that YOU like what you see.

The movement (and other QC) issues with Zodiac have put me off them. FWIW as far as I recall reading this new GMT is using an ETA movement.

I want to like it... But it just oozes China-produced watches, based on the finishing, font choices, etc. Uninspiring, although I will admit the compressor-style hybrid is cool.
Also I don't understand why German companies are so fixated on double-sided AR... it's vastly inferior in application of use.
Timex has released another mechanical watch. It's a 36mm hand-winding MK1 that's modeled after the Camper models of the 1980's. I'm not certain of the movement but my best guess is the same modified Seagull ST6 manual wind movement found in the Marlin.
