When the practical you says, "The strap costs more than the watch." But the watch nut says, "So? Do they work as a combo?"

Looks great! Equal opportunity. Every watch deserves a nice strap.

Re: Adventures in accessorizing
Received the Autumn Cordura strap that I ordered from Clockwork Synergy. I bought it specifically for this watch and I'm rather pleased with the pairing. The watch is large, so I really like that the strap tapers.
The strap is stiff at first, it's hard to get it through the first keeper, but it doesn't irritate the skin thanks to the leather backing. It also breaks in pretty well after some use (I already own this one in different color).
I also will note that I've contacted Clockwork Synergy's customer service on two three separate occasions, and each time their service was absolutely top notch. One of these days I'll write it up in more detail. EDIT: I did it!

Re: Adventures in accessorizing
Rios straps came in.
Initial reactions are....really, really good! Straps are thick, yet pliable and have soft leather backing. They're very comfortable and have a cool distressed look.
Sadly, I'm not sure if I have any 22mm watches that aesthetically match these straps. These would do well on a chunky watch, Panerai, Helm, perhaps something in bronze? Bulova Lunar Pilot would look excellent on these if it was 22mm instead of 20mm (and it should be!)
Obligatory low-light photos...

yinzburgher I can now report that the Rios1931 straps are a way more comfortable than the HELM straps.

I’m a big fan of Rios, especially for chunkier watches. They are tank-built, and do soften over time. These look great!peskydonut wrote: ↑Thu Dec 03, 2020 9:43 pm Rios straps came in.

Ok, last thing about the Rios straps. I just realized this and it kind of blew my mind. These straps actually taper in thickness (not width). They're thick towards the lugs and get thinner as you approach the buckle. You can sort of see it in the top-down photos above. This makes them feel sturdy and substantial where they hug the wrist, but flexible a supple when you buckle.
