Well I risked it and put an order in at 4 minutes before the changeover time. Looks like its still 10% CB though... We shall see if I made a good choice or not

Rakuten will never hear it, dont think about complaining

I think the Japanese ownership has made a big difference that way

Hopefully next year we see higher CB. Lately it has been weak, though it hasnt stopped me from buying lol

Rakuten cashback jumped to 12%. Still hoping it jumps higher for New Years!

Me too! I was really surprised that it only went to 12% at the end of the year. Last year, at the end of December, was the first time the CB jumped to 26%. I got extremely lucky to recognize the deal and got a grail watch then. It would be nice if we could get a favorable exchange rate and some more, good cash back sometime in 2020. The only bad thing is that I want another Rolex (probably 14060M no-date Sub) and so I've been watching the Japanese watch market for months and the Rolex prices for pre-owned GMT's, Subs, Explorer, Explorer II have all been trending up and up and up. Even with 26% CB the deals wouldn't be that great these days and maybe not enough to warrant the risk of losing the CB or getting hit with duties.... The great deals are for new Sinn, Bell & Ross, Omega, etc. from the Japanese gray dealers.

I really don't think Cashback will ever be that high again due to the changes the company made in q4 2019 when the Amex points card thing and the Rakuten global express promos. I hope I'm wrong though.

I do admit to buying about 11 watches from Rakuten global market in 2019 though, from different sellers each time. I will try and list them all later and rate how each purchase went and which removed sales tax or gave further discounts etc.

I honestly don't remember all the details about it. But it was something like more points on your card if you have one and no Cashback instead?

CB currently at 8%... hoping it jumps up tomorrow
