That is striking. I need this in my collection . This is the first time I have seen the triple date. I did a little searching, but is the first number just for tracking number of days?watchpalooza wrote: ↑Wed Jan 29, 2020 4:41 pm 1960’s Rado Starliner Daymaster

Doesn't seem like double digits would fit that first slot though. But possibly! I have no better guessTheJohnP wrote:Split-Time wrote: ↑Sat Feb 01, 2020 8:36 pmThat is striking. You're right, according to this site, it is the day number, day, and date.Bbrou33 wrote: ↑Sat Feb 01, 2020 9:05 pmDoesn't seem like double digits would fit that first slot though. But possibly! I have no better guessTheJohnP wrote:Split-Time wrote: ↑Sat Feb 01, 2020 8:36 pm

It's just that the days of the week are numbered. Sometime you see this on Tissot watches. I remember seeing that it's intended to be helpful to people that don't know the days of the week in English. 1 for Monday, 2 for Tuesday, 3 for Wednesday, etc. Usually you can flip the day wheel to show the day in English but without the number.Split-Time wrote: ↑Sat Feb 01, 2020 8:36 pmThat is striking. Re: Post a pic/photo of a great-looking vintage watch
Thank you for the explanation. I was curious as to what the first day number would be useful for, especially as bbrou33 pointed out it only appears large enough for a single digit. There is so much to learn and my horological mind is a sponge.yinzburgher wrote: ↑Sat Feb 01, 2020 9:20 pmIt's just that the days of the week are numbered. Sometime you see this on Tissot watches. Here's an oddball that I would love to own if they weren't so danged expensive.
Elgin direct read/jump hour/digital automatic chronograph from the '70s housing a Kelek (TDB 1376) movement.
