I have no real suggestions but I'm fully invested in seeing how this turns out.
Good luck!

Nsjong wrote: Sat Apr 25, 2020 1:42 am Wait, have you tried using the tri-prong caseback remover without the attachment tips? So that the circular base fits into the grooves?
No, but will give it a try.
Unfortunately the prongs are too large in diameter and they do not separate enough to fit around the caseback.

Seems you have another wrench, position wrench on caseback and tap wrench handle firmly in both directions, don't use too much force. Don't want to brake another wrench or damage caseback.

If penetrating oil, heat and cold which expands and contracts to brake rust doesn't loosen it, provided you are able to get enough grip and force, the cap threads or other caseback part may just snap and brake. I wouldn't apply force as a jolt anymore but gradually, though by the time you feel some give it will either be loosening or braking off.

I had 3 caseback wrenches, now two. Have never applied jolt force, only slow gradual. My issue now is how to hold the case in place against the force of the wrench as I do not gave a vice and wrenches with a pad to protect the case are proving very difficult

1) Tried the opposite direction in case it would be reverse-threaded....no dice
2) Tried using a plumbing wrench to hold the case while using a case tool....nope
3) Heat did nothing except make me worry about damage
With my luck step #1 would have tightened it up just a bit more  . I'm not laughing at you. I am laughing with you!

I'm a little late but what about getting some wax or rubber, melting it, then placing the caseback onto it, then let it harden into a mold if that makes sense

Same. Without sports for nearly two months this is like the Super Bowl. I generally root for the underdog so I'm definitely #TeamWatchpalooza.

LOL...it is really annoying that of my 300+ watches, this one is being a complete bitch. I have now a ball opener as suggested by TheJohnP, but no inflation needle to blow it up. Will try to get one tomorrow. Have to admit I am having thoughts of throwing this thing out the window or smashing with a hammer...

So strapping it to a speaker and letting that sucker rip doesn’t sound so crazy then[emoji6] if you do take a hammer to it, there needs to be a video, preferably high speed.

The ball didn't come inflated already?! Good thing mine did. Not sure I have a needle pump in this apartment

Not to further deflate the ball idea, I have one, it flexes, no way you can get anywhere near the same torque from using a wrench.
