Edits:
Made clarification regarding the start date for the shopping period.
Added end date for submission period (July 14th is the last day).
When purchasing a lot, the whole lot (minus shipping) counts towards the amount spent regardless of the cost per item within that lot.

I'll enter. Can't say as I'll manage to find a worthy enter piece, but I'll throw my hat in!

OK, great. Keep in mind that if you end up not finding anything that you think is a) not worth having and b) not a great fit for the contest then it is absolutely fine to not submit an entry. As the contest goes on, I will confirm with those that have stated their interest to make sure they are still intending on submitting an entry. If at some point you decide to not submit, just let me know.

I am excited for this and have a couple of out there ideas that I don’t think that I can pull off. I know someone that could, but I am not giving that guy any ideas[emoji6]

Sporkboy, any thought of keeping a running tally of the participants somewhere? Sorry to add more work.

Finding something in usable condition for the price point is going to be the hardest hurdle in this challenge, it seems.

Sure thing. I will maintain it elsewhere, but unless I am misjudging interest, the list so far is:

Sporkboy
ManOnTime
Split-Time
PetWatch
Animal Mother
Watchpalooza
Stretch44
Guyinwatch
Cortman
Rabirnie
TheJohnP

I was thinking if making up an image we could use to advertise the challenge on Instagram. Might be a fun way to drum up more participants/engagement. Of course if someone wants to spearhead that initiative, the help would be appreciated.

Not only am I in, but I've just pulled the trigger on my entry.
We'll see if it is actually in working condition when it arrives.

Found some other good options, but if only cost of servicing wasn't included in the $35 total...sigh.

Anyone have any tips for finding such a watch? Being mechanical seems to cut down on availability a lot...

Don't know if these would qualify (worth checking with Sporkboy, but Russians are always a good source for cheap mechanicals.

EDIT: Just saw the rule for "no rotating bezel", that might disqualify most if not all Komandirskies.
Living a comeback montage.
