Hello all,
I'm BruceR's counterpart and this is a review of the watch he gave me yesterday for Mother's Day.
Review of Mido Baroncelli II
I really like this watch. For an automatic it’s very flat. And with no lugs and a narrow bezel it wears bigger than its size (33mm). My understanding is that the 80-hour power reserve may be achieved by having a second hand sweep that is less smooth but I have not observed that to be the case with this second hand. The swirled guilloche face is just beautiful. There is an absence of any markers except the diamonds around the face. The date marker is in the 6 position and I’m not usually a fan of date markers but this one has a silver border that is very in keeping with the diamond markers for numbers. The only words on the face are “Mido Automatic” and the tiny “Swiss Made” below the date marker. The lack of additional words or markers really allows the subtlety of the guilloche to stand out as the star, looking different in different lights and almost having its own sense of motion. My overall impression of this watch is one of classic delicacy.

Thank you for joining @MeganR!
That's a very pretty watch BruceR gifted to you. I enjoyed reading your thoughts, and I agree with you; the dial is absolutely beautiful. I like that the minimal text and other decorations allow for the dial to really stand out, especially in the sun. Excellent choice, Bruce!
