August 2020 Watch Fast
Re: August 2020 Watch Fast
Put this guy on one of my new Barton Elite Silicon straps yesterday. It’s my first experience with these straps and I have to say they are great. This watch has never been off of its bracelet before and while I don’t totally love this particular combo, I’m going to try it out for a while.

Re: August 2020 Watch Fast
I made it 11 days. Recall my personal challenge was to wear the same watch 24 hours every day. Last night, suddenly, my wrist and arm were very uncomfortable. The bracelet was not tight, but maybe it was a circulation problem. Taking off the watch made it feel better, so I broke my fast. An interesting -- and I guess not surprising -- lesson.
Good luck to everybody else. I'll be following to see what others learn from the experiment. And Thanks to Sporkboy for leading the way.

Still going strong here. I've even scratched my acrylic crystal (it was inevitable) but to me that means I'm allowing my watch to gain character, something I've not really done before.

Day 13. Switched from black to dark gray yesterday and I’m liking it more than I thought. Both colors are a keeper, but I will likely be passing along the lighter gray strap I bought. Will definitely be buying more of these from Barton in the future.
In related news, this guy has to go back on his bracelet for a Zoom interview this afternoon. I normally wouldn’t wear this watch during such an occasion but it will work if not on rubber.
I also got my Wolbrook shipment email today (!) so my remaining challenge days might be limited.

Re: August 2020 Watch Fast
Going strong.
-Looked at watch box this week, not a great idea, but temptation was resisted.
-The strap makes the watch. On Barton Vintage-style Leather this thing rocks. It is summer, which isn’t usually leather strap season, but it looks and feels so good. Other brown leather straps did nothing for me. I prefer the non-tapered look/feel.
-Polished beveled markets and hands dramatically improve low light readability. With no light, there is a bit of lume that kicks in. Much more readable in low light than I would have thought.
- I really don’t mind the polish on this watch as it is consistent and thought out. I haven’t been worrying about scratching it and I am better off for it.

Friends, I’ve officially tapped out. I made it three full weeks and I feel pretty good about that... I believe I got the full value out of the exercise. I will wait until after the month is over to share my insights since most of you (?) are still going strong.
I knew from the start that I’d be ending my fast once my Wolbrook skindiver arrived, which finally happened yesterday. Late last night I tried it on for the first time.
Here are some pics as I play with straps this morning.
Good luck to those of you still fasting! The end is in sight!

Re: August 2020 Watch Fast
After a month with my C65 I was looking forward to wearing some different watches again. Here I am 11 days later only having worn one, the Traska Freediver. What has happened to me?
