American watches.

It was the United States that invented the popular watch as we know it, made in series and accessible to all, with manufactures such as Waltham, Illinois, Ingersoll or Hamilton, and watches worth a dollar, what a worker earned a day.

Railway watches demanded high accuracies that guaranteed them the highest quality and precision. American manufacturers continued to innovate, creating the first electric (Hami Ventura), electronic (Bulova tuning forks) and digital (Pulsar) watches. Unfortunately, Made in USA watches ceased to exist decades ago, and their brands either disappeared or were acquired by foreign groups. But it seems that lately there is an awakening.

I would like to know brands and manufacturers of watches made or assembled in the USA. Surely you know more.

You did touch on it, but FTS (Fine Timepiece Solutions), a partnership with Titan Company Ltd (a TATA Group Company), are assembling Ameriquartz movements out of their Arizona facility.

https://www.ftsusa.us/

Their goal is to have movements that can be certified "made in the USA" in both quartz and mechanical calibers.

To put a finer point upon Vero, they print their own dials, and machine their crown tubes and stem/crown assemblies. I have seen a number of machine shops, so am willing so say that theirs is small but well-setup, IMHO. They make cases under contract for at least one other US-based watch outfit. Good guys, too.

Our Brand Showcase partner CincinnatiWatchCo now assembles their watches in house.
They also give back to various Cincinnati charities with each release.

https://www.cincinnatiwatch.com/

From their ABOUT US section:

Cincinnati Watch Company Has 3 Guiding Principles:

We Give Back
- Cincinnati Watch Company is committed to giving back to the community. A portion of the sale of every watch we produce benefits valuable American non-profit institutions.

We Believe in Design
- Cincinnati Watch Company spends years working on a single watch design; appearance, parts, quality of the construction, and ease of serviceability are all considered. We are not using “off the shelf” designs, each watch is a unique custom-developed timepiece.

We Demand Quality
- Cincinnati Watch Company uses only Swiss or Japanese made movements known for reliability. Our watches are now assembled, tested, and regulated by our expert In-House Watchmaker Jordan Ficklin, ensuring the watch you receive exceeds your expectations.

David Walter will never show up in the HUISABH thread [emoji38], but he certainly qualifies as a USA-made watch.

Both have an impressive curriculum vitae.

Love Walter's clocks. And Spitz's movements. Thank you for discovering me both.

Oh gosh, I can’t believe I forgot Shapiro! His HSNY lecture on youtube is really interesting, especially the magnified videos he has of how engine turning works.
