nicegator wrote: Sun Sep 12, 2021 7:54 am New Orient Star. Looks are pretty, price is hilarious. I generally like Orient and will take it over Seiko any time, but here they try to go to GS territory.
Anyways, watch is nice, somewhat increased power reserve, 100 m WR, sapphire. Will consider it when it comes to CreationWatches 😉.
From the email :
" Pearlescent Glory
We're excited to announce the latest addition to the Orient Star Moon Phase collection: two new colorways that don an exquisite mother of pearl dial in both white and green. The green model seen above is limited to 700 pieces worldwide and was created as a special 70th anniversary commemorative model. "

Orient's US distributor's pricing is so weird. Are they trying to move the relatively little known brand upmarket or do they just like a nice profit?

That $3400 moon phase is €1845 at several Finnish ADs, €1642 at Oracat and $1440 at Skywatches. The JDM equivalent RK-AY0006A goes for about $1500 on Rakuten.

Aevig is teasing its new Thyilea on Instagram. Titanium case (39x48.5x11.5mm but wears as 42mm), sapphire crystal, Sellita SW200. No word on pricing or release date yet. Thought the TV dial would appeal to a few members here.

I can't decide if that Aevig is more TV dial or more stadium dial. Whatever it is, I like it!

Agree. I think they did a good job with the numerals to make them as non-obtrusive as possible. The color schemes are really good, too.

Thanks, Sussa. I have always had a soft for Aevig and these look great, esp the GMT.

Drivin’ around in your Jeep or your Benzo, or in your Nissan wearin’ a Direnzo.

Karaoke aside, that’s a good looking watch with nice dimensions. First time I’ve ever been tempted by that brand. Thanks for posting it.

I just like the simplicity of this one. And matching date window. Would consider it under $80 or so.

I got this email too and first thing that came to mind was the strange location of the date window…I’d prefer either no date or date at 3 or 6 instead of the hour markers.

I haven't been this tempted by a watch in quite some time. Those lugs are sexah AF, BOR is awesome and the size seems perfect. Wow. That's a hell of a looker!
