Best watch for $100 challenge
Best watch for $100 challenge
What’s the best watch you can buy for $100 plus reasonable shipping? I’m curious what this crowd will come up with.
“Best” is defined by your own personal metric: quartz, mechanical, automatic are all fair game.
Just to set some sort of a bar here’s a Seiko 5automatic on a bracelet that’s exactly $100.

New, or refurbished from an authorized seller.

Re: Best watch for $100 challenge
Must be at least one available for purchase. There are a handful of retailers that it would seem like to lower prices when items aren’t actually in stock. It’s OK if it’s a limited time sale price, since that’s what most of the deals posted here represent. Must be available to the general public, so nothing like a Costco or Sam’s Club deal.

Buy 1 each of these, and have a few pennies left over!
Re: Best watch for $100 challenge
Very subjective, but I have some ideas.
Vostok Amphibia Classic: ~$75 meranom.com
So many case styles and dials to choose from. Exploring the options is an adventure. You get a tank proof automatic dive watch that has a deep rooted history.
Casio GShock DW5610 of some variety. There are some inverted displays on Amazon under $100, but with some shopping around, you can find a regular one. This is what you get when you take the Classic. GShock square and add solar power and radio controlled time keeping. Not much to improve upon on the DW5600, but here you go.

Well, for $100 one can get quite a bit in the vintage world. As an example, this Levrette with rose gold plated ETA 2789:
