December 2021 Stats: Ugh, Let's Just Skip To January Edition

Image

The numbers kind of speak for themselves. Negative drops in all categories, except the number of members posting. I always love seeing an increase in that!

Anyway... Let's leave 2021 behind and keep moving forward!

On to the numbers![/size]

(As always, if there is a particular brand, site or other pieces of data you'd like, let me know and I can provide it.)

Let's remember a few things first:
  • I based these calculations on new and refurbished watches only.
  • I do not include watch accessories or used watches.
  • I only included deals with links.
  • The retail price used was either the retail price listed on the selling website or found on the manufacturer's site.
  • Currency, if not in USD was converted to USD using Google's currency exchange calculator on as close to the date the deal was posted as possible.
  • "Largest" and "Smallest" deal is based solely on the percentage savings from listed retail. I do not make subjective determinations on the brand's perceived value. That is up to you, the reader.

@ManOnTime Is there a particular format or way of posting deals which makes your data-gathering easier - or alternatively, harder and we should avoid doing?

You may have had posts with deals that were a duplicate of an already posted deal, or posted deals of pre-owned/used watches. Per my criteria, those don't count towards your personal totals.

Great question!

I love to see posts that include the brand, model, model (reference) number as well as the sale price, the retail price, and a direct link to the specific watch on the site the deal is at. Take a look at the screenshot for example:

Also, since I collect the info in USD, I appreciate it if the poster converts non-US currency. Simply typing a search string ("150euro to usd" for example) into Google is quick and easy. Further, I also love to see the exact price amounts. Rounding up or down increases my collection timer per post by a few seconds, but it adds up.

Thanks for the question, let me know if I need to clarify anything.

Like the codes that @nicegator and others post. I have enjoyed digging into those to see what I can find, but the OP doesn't get a tally. Best example is all the discounts folks posted to get that Timex auto down to $40 (for me, even lower for others). One deal, many assists -- so cool.
