Bike modding rabbit hole

Post by CVP33 »

Never really got into modding bikes, cosmetically at least. Our e-bikes seem like a good place to start, plus I have a dream build in mind with a C/F frame/bars, MTB shocks, fat tires, Bafang 1,000w mid-drive, shimano switchgear and color match everything.

For now though a few mods to my Keteles K800. This bike is a fat-tired beast with twin 1,000w motors, giant 48v23a battery, 22 speed shimano gears and 35mph top speed. Mods so far:

- Gold chain (supposed to wear better - easier than I thought to replace with the chain breaker)
- yellow anodized rotor bolts, deraileur gear, gear wire caps, riser bolts, bar end caps
- bar extender (ran out of room on the factory bars)
- added grip padding
- new seat
- seat post shock (going to be swapping though)
- added mirrors
- new riser
- new riser cap
- rear cooler bag
- frame bag

Also added a new riser to my wife’s bike so she can ride more upright. For anyone that’s considering an e-bike I highly recommend them. Great way to get back to 18-20 miles rides again. You can modulate PAS (pedal assist) so you’re still getting some cardio.
