Vintage Watch and Accessory Deals
Re: Vintage Watch and Accessory Deals
I am posting this in hopes someone here buys this so I won't
Vintage flip-top Casio calculator watch. Looks to be NOS. Needs a battery. Buy it now for $50 +$8 shipping.
https://www.ebay.com/itm/Rare-Vintage-C ... Sw4BBcq5Lr
This thing speaks to the nerd in me:
Most other listings are $100+. There is live auction starting at $68 with zero bids so far. A few sold for $99, one for $60, and one inexplicably for about $22 but with $20 shipping.

I wish that watch were 38mm?

I am 75% certain I had this watch when I was younger.

Re: Vintage Watch and Accessory Deals
can we agree to not post deals based on current bid price, unless there is 0 bid and it is likely to not be sold or sold at starting bid, or it did not sell previously at a price you think is a deal?
this thread is full of posts that ends up many times the price when members post them.....
For example if there is 2 hours left and 0 bids and it has no reserve, that a deal. Or if it previously did not sell at a starting bid of 300 dollars and you think 300 is a deal, then okay. Use your best judgement please

Re: Vintage Watch and Accessory Deals
May or may not be a deal. No clue on vintage watches but found this one going for € 450. Looks cool and has interesting story. This thread maybe more dangerous to your pocket then the general HUISABH one
Details(from Google Translate):
For sale this Stowa French Army Type 1 (Golden Durowe movement), the rarest since less than 1000 ex Type 1 have been produced.
Good general condition and operation. Gilt dial slightly past. An interesting historical piece since this watch is part of a rare series of about 2500 Stowa watches offered to France for war damage in the early 1950s. They were mainly donated to the army during the Indochina war.
More pictures at the original listing here http://forumamontres.forumactif.com/t23 ... type-1-450
Google Translate version here https://translate.google.com/translate? ... type-1-450
Afterthought: As Stowa is still around, perhaps can get in touch for verification of the said watch in case you have doubts over its authenticity and/or service costs. Good to do some due diligence.

Re: Vintage Watch and Accessory Deals
Only 2 hours to go on this one, so probably posting it a little bit late; but it's a bit different so someone might have an interest:
Vintage 1970's Oberon 'Digital' Mechanical.
17 Jewel handwound
Approx 38 x 28mm
Case plating and movement look in reasonable shape.
Disclaimer: I know literally nothing about vintage watches so no idea if this is a deal. It should go without saying that I have no affiliation with the seller.
Currently on auction at £17.50 (~$22.00).

Try typing the words “vintage oris” into eBay. You might be surprised at how cool and affordable some of their vintage pieces from the 60s, 70s & 80s are going for. They have some really eye-catching designs in their back catalog.

Some of these look very unique. One minor word of caution...a high number of the Oris’ I see on the Bay look to be frankens or redials, especially from sellers in India. Check the movement and be sure to find a reference if you are concerned about authenticity.recapt wrote: ↑Sun Jan 05, 2020 9:09 am Try typing the words “vintage oris” into eBay. I just want to highlight www.gixen.com, which is a free sniper platform. It works amazingly well and has saved me a lot of money. I don’t always win the auction, but I know that my bids went in. I liked it so much that I opted for the $6/year membership to bypass the wait screen for non-paying members. Not super annoying, but it does slow one down.
Anyway, I highly recommend it.

Re: Vintage Watch and Accessory Deals
Agreed, I nearly got burned on some Franken-Oris’ around this time last year. Most of the dials are fake and they use a cheap/crappy movement. You could almost file these under replica. Be wary.watchpalooza wrote:Some of these look very unique. One minor word of caution...a high number of the Oris’ I see on the Bay look to be frankens or redials, especially from sellers in India. I second that. I have been using gixen for a few years (both free and paid) and it works great.Sporkboy wrote:I just want to highlight www.gixen.com, which is a free sniper platform.
